Researcher and Translator

P. N. Singer is a researcher, writer and translator, with a specialism in classical languages and philosophy, and particular interests in the history of medicine, psychology and the emotions. He has further active interests in drama and performance practice, and in Indian cultural history. Educated in London and at Trinity College, Cambridge, where he took his Ph.D., he has also studied and lived in Italy, Germany and India. He currently holds a research fellowship in the department of History, Classics and Archaeology at Birkbeck, University of London. Alongside his academic research, he has worked as a literary translator, from German, Italian, and both classical and modern Greek.
